Fantastic food and good service. Lovely little Nepalese restaurant, really enjoyed it.
We came to the restaurant hungry and cold from climbing Pen y Fan, and there were no tables left, but the manager let us sit in the staff area upstairs. The food was really good quality, and good value for money compared to other places in the area that we saw, although popadoms were too expensive. Staff were friendly despite being busy.
Decided to visit as it offered something different and the reviews were pretty good. Two of us booked and we were the only people there. The menu was good and offered a lot of different Gurkha cuisine, so as we'd not tried it before we opted for a set meal, choosing the nettle curry and extra dumplings for starters. Unfortunately the food and service were really disappointing. Tasteless, watery food, especially the dumplings and sour unfriendly staff. The nettle curry was not the revelation expected and was quite bland and under seasoned. Not good for the price we paid, which for two was nearly 70 with drinks. It's a shame as we had really high hopes and had travelled to go here. Sufficed to say, there won't be a return visit any time soon, although I always believe in second chances.
This is a nice Nepalese restaurant in Brecon. I have eaten there before and the food is excellent. On my most recent trip there I have a couple of Gurkha beers which I would recommend. I would advise you to reserve a table during the holiday seasons and also on a Friday and Saturday evening as it gets very busy.It is only a small restaurant but that adds to its character. I would recommend a visit to the The Gurkha Corner restaurant in Brecon.
