Great place to park to start your climb up pen y fan or explore the Brecons. Free toilets, snack van and parking is free. Can get very busy though and I have been told if you park on the main road you may get a ticket.
Too small for the visitors cars to the ever popular walk up Pen Y Fan. Great tea from a van helps recovery. Needs investment and it could make much more of this South Wales landmark. Best place to park though and tough walk up to the farthest peak is achievable for most healthy people. 1000ft climb with no level breaks. Wheel chairs would find it too steep and dangerous I think.
Met a really nice bloke in the food van who was informative. The place is stunning and you can see it is the place where people start their journeys of making great memories
Parked here to hike up Pen Y Fan. Fills up pretty quickly so early is best. There are toilets but didn't use them so can't comment on what they're like!
The best spot you can get if you want to be close to the Pen-y-Fan trail. Good facilities there, toilets and no parking charges providing you can park properly. Good food vans there for fuelling up before the ascent. Also the place where the Ten-Y-Fan challenge begins each year.
